DEEP TISSUE / SPORTSÂ MASSAGE
This massage focuses on realigning the deep layers of muscle to alleviate acute or chronic pain, correct muscular imbalances, reduce tension, aid recovery and prevent injuries. Anyone can benefit from it whether you participate in sport, have a physically demanding job or sit desk-based for long periods of time. The beauty of deep tissue/sports massage is being able to incorporate lots of other techniques to enhance your sessions such as trigger point therapy, frictions, active release, stretching and myofascial cupping or blading.
MYOFASCIAL CUPPING
This is a soft tissue therapy that involves the use of suction cups. When the cups are applied to the skin, the vacuum created lifts the superficial tissues, increasing circulation to the muscle, fascia and skin. This form of treatment reduces muscular tension, nerve compression and increases range of movement. It works well in conjunction with deep tissue/sports massage.
ROCK BLADING
Fascial blading is a form of gentle, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilisation. Fascia is a thin connective tissue, abundant in the body and surrounding all our organs, muscles, nerves, tendons and ligaments. The blade is used to gently identify and breakdown scar tissue adhesions and fascial restrictions. In turn this improves overall movement patterns, muscle activation and flexibility whilst reducing painful symptoms. Blades are often used in conjunction with deep tissue massage.
SWEDISH MASSAGE
This is a full body therapeutic massage designed for relaxation, by releasing superficial muscle tension and increasing blood circulation. It involves long, gliding and kneading strokes, as well as light, rhythmic, tapping strokes. Unlike sports or deep tissue massage, Swedish uses less pressure to relax the body and mind, soothe tight muscles and boost overall wellbeing.
INDIAN HEAD MASSAGE
This form of deep tissue massage uses a variety of pressures and techniques including circular massage strokes on your scalp, deep tissue work on your shoulders, and stretching the neck. Benefits include relaxation, reduction in muscular tension, promotion of hair growth and relief from headaches and migraines.
PREGNANCY MASSAGE
This type of massage is gentle, soothing and tailor made for mum-to-be. Similar to Swedish massage, long gliding strokes are used to relax and de-stress the muscles. It is also great for reducing any built up swelling in the hands and feet, stimulating bowel function if you're suffering from constipation, and promoting sleep. Extra care is taken with positioning to make sure you are comfortable and supported throughout the treatment.
